The Twelth Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid of Delhi, Hazrat Maulana Syed Abdullah Bukhari, needs no introduction. A well-known protagonist of social justice, not many people know that he was a philanthropist to his core. In his personal capacity, he helped the needy in every possible way, but at the same time, he stressed the indispensability of the collective and organized efforts in this direction. Unfortunately, tumultuous socio-political circumstances coupled with his struggle against social injustice left time for him to concentrate in this field.

However, inspired by his teaching and upbringing, his son, Syed Hassan Bukhari, along with like-minded persons, sensed the need for an organized initiative in this direction. A charitable medical centre (Imam Abdullah Bukhari Medical Centre) was established by Syed Hassan Bukhari in the year 2014 at Jama Masjid complex near gate no 3. Another shot In the arm was the establishment of another charitable clinic at Gate no.9, Meena Bazar, Cotton Market, Jama Masjid.

In this short journey, many people have joined the caravan and a strong need was felt for more efforts for the continuation of medical works, after running charitable clinics.
